WELCOME
WELCOME TO OUR NEW, AMAZING WEBSITE…
Last year, we decided that while our company was getting better with age (45 years old and still going strong) our website wasn’t fairing as well. So, we decided to give it a much needed makeover and with that decision we began a journey to design, build and launch a site that would reflect the cornerstones of Salco Construction.
THE QUESTION THAT BEGAN IT ALL…
What do we want visitors to our site to know about Salco? That was the question we needed to answer before we could begin creating our site’s new look. The answer was unanimous and three fold. We wanted anyone who visited to know that 1) We are a design/build firm who does exceptional work, 2) Our employees are experienced and dedicated and 3) We build client relationships that last. Our goal was set, our focus was true and it was time to start creating.
WEBSITE DESIGN FOR DUMMIES…
The very the first step to building a website is to find a web design firm that truly understands your company and will work side by side with you to accomplish the vision you have for your web presence. After talking with several web design firms, we decided to hire Hatchit Creative. Jeremy and Nick immediately understood and appreciated who we were as a company and how we worked. They were professional, knowledgeable and receptive to ideas on how we could reach our vision for the website. The next step was to showcase our projects and so the search for an architectural photographer began. After seeing Chad Chenier Photography‘s body of work, it was obvious we needed him to photograph our projects. His eye for lighting, angles and details are amazingly accurate and his work speaks for itself. The starter pistol was fired and these two firms came off the starting block focused and now all there was for us to do was wait for them to hand us a beautiful new website…or not.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO BUILD A WEBSITE…
To say that one or two people are responsible for the creation of this new website would be an epic falsehood. Many, many people contributed their time, talents, ideas and opinions to the design and content found on these web pages. We wanted the website to be a culmination of ideas, so in truth the design that we started with is not the design with which we ended. This design is better in many ways as it is a reflection of our company and all the personalities that contributed to it on a whole.
THE END RESULT SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE SAME…
And so, as we rounded the bend into the last leg of the race to launch our new site it wasn’t lost on us that the process to build this website has been extremely similar to the process for building one of our projects. The customer arrives at our office with an idea of what he wants to build, but as we view it and lend our experiences, ideas and opinions to the original concept, the project becomes a collaboration between Salco and the client. The end result is often different, be it slightly or vastly, from the original vision, but the end result should always be the same, Pride in what we have built together and gratitude for having been involved in the process.
